The Client always has or begins a separate bona fide relationship with an attorney. There are always separate checks, separate engagement letters, separate attorney client interviews and meetings. The attorney and I, and sometimes a tax professional, work together as a team to accomplish a comprehensive and client specific estate plan. The attorney does his or her part (i.e. giving individual legal advice and counsel and drafting the corresponding documents), and I do my part (i.e. information gathering, financial advising, general education, funding, and follow up).
